Iranian short ‘World Cup’ is going on screen at the OC Film Fiesta in the US.

Iranian short flick ‘World Cup’ has been going on screen at the OC Film Fiesta in the US.

Written and directed by Maryam Khodabakhsh, the 15-minute film is competing at the 13th edition of the US event.

“On the night of a couple's migration, the child of their friend, who has been entrusted to them, gets lost, and then a secret is revealed,” a synopsis for ‘World Cup’ reads.

The film bagged four awards at the Silent River Film Festival in the US, including the Best Narrative Short, the River Rock Award for the Best Actor, the River Pearl Award for the Best Female Actor, and the River Rock Award for the Best Child Actor.

The OC Film Fiesta is “the premier cinematic celebration of Orange County's diversity and multicultural heritage”.

“Each year, the Film Fiesta presents an award-winning selection of feature films, documentaries, short films and activities for a diverse audience of families, students, artists, professionals and lovers of cinema from throughout the county.”

The 13th OC Film Fiesta has been underway since October 23 and it is set to end on November 02.
